Zombies took to the streets to carve brains, bones, flesh, and generally titillate passers-by with their trademark antics and gory appearances.
Zombie Walk Seattle organizers at Zombiewalk.com mention in a press release style message on the group Facebook page that, “Crowds dressed as Zombies appear to be infected by the Ultimate Movie Fan Culture Epidemic that is said to be widespread and viral and has taken over the small arts community known as Fremont, WA.”
It would appear the Zombie Apocalypse has finally come to Seattle.
Supporters and enthusiasts have come to Seattle in the spirit of reclaiming the homesite of the World record for Zombie gatherings. When the walk begins the zombies literally take over the city en masse. They walk the streets, terrifying citizens and go on a rampage into the malls. It is eerily like the scenes one would see in a Zombie horror picture.
This 4th of July weekend thousands of the Seattle’s undead return to the streets to represent Emerald City by creeping their way back into The Guinness Book of World Records for the “Largest Gathering of Zombies”.
At the moment New Jersey holds the title for the “Largest Gathering of Zombies”. On October 2010 New Jersey made a new record by having 4,093 Zombies. Zombie enthusiasts in Seattle do not intend to let New Jersey hold their title for much longer.
In order to get into the Guinness Book of World Records, organizers urge everyone to dress up like a zombie to help Seattle reclaim their place in the annals of the Guinness World Records.
Scary and creative costumes are a regular part of the fun and spectacle of Zombie Walk. Staff photographers had a challenging time keeping up with all of the amazing images that filled the event. Many agree, “the costumes were the best part of the event.”
Before the walk began, the Zombie Walk had a line of different events. These events Included performances by bands like Death Star Hip-Hop, Rushden and Diamonds, Spawn Atomic, THE STAXX BROTHERS, and KULTER SHOCK. And it got even better when The Seattle Thriller got together and did a massive Thriller Dance.
Participant and spectator feedback was especially positive at the recent Seattle ZombieWalk.
“This was a great event. I had a lot of fun and my kids really enjoyed it too,” said Katy, a mother and fan of the Zombie Walk.
“Seeing people in crazy costumes really made my day. It was great having a great time with the dead,” said Paul.
“Brains give me your brains!!!!,” said a random zombie from off the streets.
Remember folks, Zombie Walk is an annual event. If you missed the celebration this year, there is always next year. For those interested in seeing zombies, taking photos of zombies, or in need of some excitement Zombie Walk provides a truly zombified spectacle.

This article seemed to lack direction, often jumping from beginning of the event to the end and back to the beginning. It was confusing if the “official” comment was from facebook, a press release, or from Zombiewalk.com. There was a lot of repetitiveness. Were there hundreds of people or thousands? Both are mentioned in the article. The quote “it was GREAT having a GREAT time with the dead,” isn’t clear. Meanwhile the “official” quote didn’t add anything to the article. This could have been a great article had someone reviewed and edited it first. The author has potential. It sounds like an interesting event. I would have liked a more polished article (or finalized version of this article).
I liked the article. It sounds like a really fun event. Not only that but the people in the photos look like they had a fun time at the event as well. Great article Kevin. I’m going to check it out next year. I’m sure my freidns will enjoy it too. Don’t know why Carli thought the article was confusing. What was confusing about it sweetie? It was a zombie walk that had 4,522 zombies in it. What’s so confusing about that? It was clear to me. I liked it and the photos look AMAZING!!!!! Zombies rule
I don’t know what article Natalie was reading, or if she even bothered to read this one, but it does jump all over the place. Pick a direction and stick to it.
@ Joanna I read the article. Don’t get it twisted. The article was about zombies, the zombie walk, the scary costumes, getting into the world records, and performances. It was an article of the WHOLE event. It wasn’t all over the place. It was an article of the whole event. I’m sure that was the direction the author was going for. And if he did then he stuck to it.
